WiFi address

Mohd Kamal asked 5 months ago

I asked my new employer to connect my iPad to their WiFi network, so the IT guy went ahead selected one of their WiFi network and keyed in the password on my ipad.  But then he opened the “General” tap and wrote down on a piece of paper the WiFi address of my iPad which is found in the “about” section, this is the 14 digits (letters and numerals). and I asked him what he wrote that for, he said this is just to give them permission to allow me to use the network.
Is this ok?
Can he hack onto iPad after knowing the ipad WiFi address?
thanks

This is normal. It's another layer of security they have on their network.
