Websites viewing IPs/hotmail

I have a question regarding hotmail and IP addresses.
I was very recently accused of hacking an e-mail from a person, they had all of their information posted on the website 4chan and apparently were hit pretty hard, all of their messages were deleted and also naked pictures of the girl in question were sent to several relatives and e-mail address (including my own which i've already traced back to a proxy). The girl herself is a minor. Her parents claim I'm the only person "smart enough" to hack an e-mail so I must be the culprit even though I have concrete alibis for when both attacks occurred. The female in question called me after the second attack begging me to help her get her account back, and I have proof of this. I did everything I could and ultimately was able to get it (her secret question was never changed.)

My question is this. Since I technically logged into her e-mail after it was hacked, albeit with her permission, does hotmail record my IP as being there, and can it then be used against me for this reason? Or seeing as I did not e-mail anyone simply logged out after changing it to what she asked, do they even monitor my IP on this matter?

Yes, hotmail will see your IP address and everything you did while you were there regardless of the permission you had. It probably would've been better to teamviewer in to her computer and help from there. This way as soon as you got her in to her account, you release control of the computer and she can clearly see that you did nothing more than help her answer the secret question.

Even though you did nothing wrong, if the question is "was his IP seen in your log files as logging in to her account", hotmail will have to answer yes.
