Hi. I'm new to this forum and have a question around the X-Originating IP. I received 2 emails from the same person in Germany. They have 2 different X-Originating IPs. Searching one of them last week and doing the same today, gave me a different originating address each time, despite the X-O-IP being from the same email and having the same address. How is this possible? The general region is the same, but the precise location changed. The 2 mails I received have the following addresses.
Any ideas as to why the originating address for one of them changed over the space of a week? Is this reliable? It's not spam, just an unpleasant person.
Very grateful for any ideas you have.
Thanks for your question shanz.
The originating IP can sometimes be the IP of the mail server they use through a browser and sometimes it's the actual IP the user is mailing from.
If it's the actual IP they are using, they could be changing locations utilizing public WIFI connections or their IP address could change frequently.
