Same Subnet Mask Ping

Ali A asked 2 years ago

Hii Guys, my question is
Computer A is 192.10.5.2/24 : Gateway 192.10.5.1/24
Computer B is 192.10.6.2/24: Gateway 192.10.5.1/24
both computers can ping each other?
=========================
so actually that at my friends office they are using 192.10.5.0/24 ip addresses, and they have already reached the max, so now they want to install Access points in there HO for Wifi there are about 100 users that are going to access it (so all them will again be assigned an ip address), so how to solve that problem? if they use 192.10.6.0/24(GW:192.10.5.1), will they be part of 192.10.5.0/24 network?

If you change their subnets from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0 they would be able to access each other.

Subnets can get more complex but changing the third octet from 255 to 0 should resolve your issue.
