Remote IP

Hi, my name is Troy. I am new in this forum. I'm not sure if I am on the right page to ask this question. But I hope you could help.

I am running a homebased call center and I want my agents to remotely connect to my server so they can use the dialer. So what IP should i give or what will i do to make this possible? Thanks!

Hi Troy...thanks for joining the forum.

You'll give them your external IP....the one you see on our homepage.

You'll need to find out what ports the dialer uses and forward those ports in your router to the appropriate IP address on your internal network.

But perhaps we should step back for a second and analyze your connection first. Does your connection have the capacity to handle VoIP calls? Do you have the equipment in place to handle QoS (Quality of Service) for the calls?

If you were just making calls yourself, it wouldn't be a big deal....but with multiple people on the same line doing VoIP unless you have a decent network foundation, the calls will be broken and garbled.
