hi.
um, i'm new to the forums as you can see... i really been having trouble with my new ISP. maybe you guys can help?
I tried to configure my LAN for remote desktoping / remote file server but when I got my Mikrotik antenna installed (yeah, it's a crappy wireless connection) and started messing around with my network, I noticed they gave me a private-public address: 192.168.xx.xx O_o
Forgive my ignorance perhaps, I'm just starting to study for CCNA and I thought private addresses like that one aren't supposed to work on the internet? Maybe is a natting of some kind?
is there a way I could override it to make my PC's and router accessible when I'm away from home?
Thanks in advance for your help.
So if you go to https://www.whatismyip.com/ what IP does our homepage show?
We'll need to figure out if the 192.168.x.x address is what's assigned to your local computers or to your router.
