An IRC user with an IP address (always ending in dyn.iinet.net.au) that is from Australia, and has been chatting in Australia.
If that person moves to Indonesia for a few months and there uses a local wifi connection on the same laptop that was used in Australia, could the IP address stay the same on IRC?
In other words, does an IRC user's IP address changes depending on the connection used, or would it stay the same no matter the conncection?
If they're using local wifi in Indonesia, their IP would change. The only way it wouldn't change is if they're connecting to their home back in Australia before connecting to IRC, but that's not really optimal as it would slow down the connection. Unless of course, they're forced to connect to their home in Australia before connecting to IRC if Indonesia blocks IRC. I doubt that's the case though.
