IP blacklisted – but I’m confused!

Help!
I have a customer who is not receiving my emails - they are returned with an error message:

Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 451 too many errors detected from your IP
    (#######), please visit 

BUT ####### is different each time, and also is not the address I get when I check on this site. I'm confused!

Are you having problems sending email to others on the same system? Try sending to someone on a different system. If other emails go through, it's something specific to this customer. However, if other emails don't go through, there's possibly something wrong with your email server.

It's only with this one recipient, with a .free.fr email (don't think I've ever sent an email to that internet provider before)

Sounds like something at free.fr has you blocked. You can reach out to their support. I'm sure they'll be able to help clear the error.
