I can’t access my modem’s config page!

ibromo123 asked 2 years ago

I have a D-Link dsl 2640U modem connected to my phone line. My internet is working just fine, but when i try to use utorrent or any game server or any other program requiring ports to be opened they don't work for me.
I read that i need to copy my ip from command prompt and paste it into the address bar. However, when i do this, both IE and Firefox don't recognize my ip. My IP address isn't any of the usual ones (192.168...) it's a different one. I think it's to do with the type of IP my ISP assigned me.
Any help as to how I can access my router config page?
If not then is there anyway to use these types of programs?

Thanks for your question ibromo123.

The D-Link DSL-2640U is a DSL Modem and a Router. You will need to setup port forwarding where it is required. The Manual for the Router should help you discover how to accomplish that.
