i just installed yahoo im. three email addresses appeared as offline. I recognize two but not the other. 1) why am I seeing the email address I do not recognize? 2) I have looked up the profile on im, but this person has chosen not to display any info. How can I find out who it is?

Why not just remove the address? If they are someone you know, they'll see that you've removed them and they'll contact you.
Privacy laws being what they are, it's possible to find out who it is, but unlikely.
