dont not have ip address on computer

when i run IPconfig. i get nothing,.. but it confusing to me.. but when i ping 127.0.0.1 . i get a positive feedback.. what could be the problem

You probably get *something*, but maybe it doesn't mean anything to you? Try this: at the command prompt, where you type ipconfig, type the command as follows:

ipconfig /all>c:ipconfig.txt

You won't see an output, because that command redirects the output to an "ipconfig.txt" file that's now at the root of your C: drive. Open that up in Notepad, and then copy and paste the contents to a reply here. Maybe we can figure it out that way.

By the way, my first thought is that either there's nothing out there to which your PC is connected that is providing an IP address, or your PC isn't setup to accept one. That Ipconfig output will give us pretty good clues to which.
