WubWubWubWubWubWub asked 3 years ago

Recently, some skids got a hold of my IP address. I know the have the software and the ability to DDOs my internet.

My question is,how can I prevent that? I've attempted to change my IP, but my ISP is completely fail and doesn't want to do anything.

Also, shouldn't my ISP detect when someone's doing that and take measures to stop it? I'm using AT&T, by the way.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Unfortunately, there's not a lot you can do unless you're willing to pay for a redundant Internet connection.

Now, having said that, you're right that an ISP like AT&T should be able to detect an attempted attack and be able to mitigate it.

It all depends on how sophisticated those attackers want to get. For a residential Internet connection, they can probably get more sophisticated than an ISP is willing to attempt.

Have you seen any evidence that they're actually doing something?
