Date of emails

Cody Robertson Staff asked 3 years ago

Dear friends.
Yesterday I receive a mail with date of 1 February?
How is it possible.
What gives the date to email the PC sender , the router XDSL , the mail server used or the PC where the mail is received

I could be mistaken but I think the date of an email is established by the initial smtp server that sends the email. If the date and time are wrong on the server, they will send emails with the wrong information in the header.
