Accused of downloading a copyright file to my IP address

hbreder asked 2 years ago

I received a letter from my internet service provider accusing me of copyright infringement by downloading a large music file via Bit Torrent to my IP address. I have never downloaded a copyright file from any service whatever and have no idea how this ended up with my IP address. Any help?

Your ISP keeps track of who had what IP address and when they were assigned this IP for their system.

Do you have someone else in your household that has a computer that could've downloaded something? Or downloaded something while on your computer when you weren't home.
