What Is An Email Header?
An email header can show data from where the email originated and what email servers the email contacted in order to be delivered.
Why You Need An Email Header.
Email header data is used to find the source IP of the email. If someone is spamming you or sending you threats via email, you can use the email header data to possibly trace the originating IP to locate the sender.
Are The Results Accurate?
Yes and No. Our Email Header Analyzer Tool will decipher the originating IP address. You can then use our IP Address Lookup Tool to determine the location of the IP address along with other data. The best scenario will result in you being able to find the city where the IP address is located. You will not be able to find a physical address. However, if the matter is serious, local law enforcement could be able to subpoena the ISP that controls the IP address to determine who was assigned the IP address at the time they sent malicious emails.
